About

I ran track and cross country throughout high school, as a way to stay in shape for the other sports I loved: soccer, tennis, skiing.  Unfortunately, I never found any joy in it and I was quick to give it up in college.  About a decade later, in 2008 I picked it up again as a way to stay in shape with a crazy work travel schedule – I was in a plane almost every week!  This time I fell in love with it and starting racing for me and my personal goals.  It was at the starting line of the 2008 Nike Human Race where it happened, something about the thousands of people lined up to complete a 10K – such energy and emotion it was hard not to be swept up by it.  After, I kept the races going with several 10Ks and half marathons, and finally decided to take the 26.2 mile plunge in 2011 and have been hooked on the distance since completing my first Marathon in 2011 (NYC), my second in 2012 (Stockholm), and now I’m wrapping up numbers 3-5 for 2013 (Berlin, Chicago, and NYC).

In addition to the great pleasure running with the NYAC Running Club has brought me, I’m fortunate enough to have run with several charities to help raise money for great causes – Team for Kids (Berlin 2013) and Team In Training (Mont Tremblant Ironman 70.3 – 2014).  Such a great way to meet amazing people; I’m certain I’ll represent other charities in the many races ahead.

New York’s Upper West Side is my home and most of my runs are in Central Park or along the Hudson River, but I’m also spotted running along the bridges through Queens, Brooklyn, Lower Manhatthan, and even NJ.

Hope to see you out there!
